Several first-time attendees graced the 2023 Oscars, including Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal.
A donkey made an appearance at the event, wearing a bedazzled emotional-support-animal vest.
Host Jimmy Kimmel introduced the donkey as Jenny, who played a role in "The Banshees of Inisherin."
Kimmel claimed that Jenny was a certified emotional-support donkey and invited attendees to come and hug her if they felt upset.
The donkey's scenes with Colin Farrell in the film received widespread acclaim.
However, the donkey on stage wasn't actually Jenny.
Jenny has been enjoying retirement in a secret location and wasn't available for the event.
Director Martin McDonagh confirmed that the donkey on stage wasn't the same one who appeared in the film.
Unfortunately, the film didn't win any awards that night.
